Islanders sign Eaton, Jurcina

The New York Islanders signed a pair of defensemen Friday in Mark Eaton and Milan Jurcina. Both were unrestricted free agents.

Eaton signed a $5 million, two-year deal, a source told ESPN.com, while Jurcina signed for one year, $1 million, the same source said.

Eaton, 33, had 16 points (3-13) and a plus-5 rating in 79 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season. He was squeezed out of Pittsburgh after the Penguins signed blue-liners Paul Martin and Zbynek Michalek ...
