Johnson suffers recovery setback

SEATTLE -- New York Yankees designated hitter Nick Johnson has had a setback in his recovery from right wrist surgery.

Manager Joe Girardi says before Thursday's game in Seattle that Johnson felt pain in the wrist taking swings in the initial stages of his recovery, and has been sent back to New York for additional evaluation. Girardi said he hadn't planned for Johnson's return so it would not impact how the Yankees will go forward.
