Mets' Minaya: 'Manuel is our manager'

LOS ANGELES -- New York Mets general manager Omar Minaya dismissed speculation that manager Jerry Manuel's job is in jeopardy as the Mets prepared to open a four-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.

Asked if he could categorically state that Manuel's job is safe, Minaya replied: "Yes. Jerry Manuel is our manager. Look, any time you're going to have a couple of losing [series], those things are going to pop up. But there's no discussion at all.
