Coughlin can't afford any meltdowns

Even if Tom Coughlin was telling the truth earlier this summer when he insisted he hadn't heard that Antonio Pierce said the New York Giants' head coach was going into the 2010 NFL season on the "hot seat," Coughlin's response that life in the NFL is "a one-year circumstance" for everybody wasn't entirely realistic.
