Giants cut Rhett Bomar, Jay Alford

Rhett Bomar didn't just lose the backup quarterback spot. He ended up losing his spot on the New York Giants roster.

In a somewhat surprising move, Bomar was one of the casualties Saturday as the Giants reduced their roster to 53. Perhaps more surprising were the decisions made to release running back Andre Brown and defensive tackle Jay Alford.
