Brandon Jacobs fined $10,000

New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for throwing his helmet into the stands during a 38-14 loss Sunday night to the Indianapolis Colts.

Jacobs apologized for the helmet incident again Tuesday and also said he met Monday with general manager Jerry Reese and coach Tom Coughlin. Jacobs said he did not ask to be traded and he wants to help the Giants win.
