Derek Jeter resumes BP, running

NEW YORK -- With Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter officially not coming off the disabled list on Wednesday, the chance of him reaching 3,000 hits in New York is still possible.

Jeter, who is out with a strained right calf, took batting practice on the field for the first time and started a running program Monday in Tampa, Fla.
