Derek Jeter won't play in All-Star Game

NEW YORK -- Derek Jeter will skip the All-Star Game to rest his recently injured right calf.

Jeter said on Friday that he decided to skip the All-Star Game after a discussion Thursday with general manager Brian Cashman, manager Joe Girardi and trainer Gene Monahan.
