Gary Carter not set for more chemo

NEW YORK -- Nearly two weeks after an MRI revealed Hall of Famer catcher Gary Carter's malignant brain tumors had shrunk by 80 percent as the result of an initial round of chemotherapy, elating his loved ones, Carter learned of a mild bump in his battle.

An examination on Monday revealed Carter's white blood cell count is not sufficient to begin a second, stronger round of chemotherapy, according to his daughter Kimmy Bloemers.
