Marc Staal not heading to Europe

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Defenseman Marc Staal, who is still experiencing headaches stemming from a concussion suffered last February, will not make the trip to Europe with the New York Rangers.

However, coach John Tortorella said Staal is still a possibility to rejoin the team abroad during their six-game stretch that includes four exhibition contests and two regular season games.

Tortorella said he expects to have an update on Staal's status within four to five days.
