David Harris hurts ankle but returns

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets linebacker David Harris and starting defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis both sustained ankle injuries in the first half of a home game against San Diego, but Harris was able to return in the second half of the Jets' 27-21 win.

Ellis did not return.

He was in the second active game of his career after being tapped to start in place of veteran Mike DeVito, who hurt his knee in Thursday's practice. Ellis left the game in the first quarter.
