In hard year, Tuck's tank not yet empty

Giants DE eyes Jets, aims to make 2011 memorable for something that isn't painful

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- As 2011 nears its end, Justin Tuck would probably rather not look back on a year that has been filled with pain.

In August, Tuck lost a grandfather; in September, he lost an uncle. On the field, Tuck's season has been dominated by pain, with injuries to his neck, groin, ankle and toe. As the team's defensive captain, he also has spent several sleepless nights trying to figure out how to lead the Giants out of another second-half tailspin.
