Rangers trade Erik Christensen to Wild

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- The New York Rangers made a minor deal Friday morning, sending center Erik Christensen to the Minnesota Wild for 24-year-old center Casey Wellman.

The Wild also will receive a conditional 2013 seventh-round draft pick in the trade.

Christensen, a highly skilled yet inconsistent center, has not played for the Rangers since Dec. 17 and has appeared in only 20 games this season. The 28-year-old was sent on a two-week AHL conditioning stint prior to the All-Star break.
