Iman Shumpert out of dunk contest

New York Knicks rookie Iman Shumpert will not participate in the NBA's Slam Dunk contest during All-Star Weekend because of a left knee injury.

He will be replaced by Utah Jazz forward Jeremy Evans.

Shumpert sat out the Knicks' loss to the New Jersey Nets Monday because of the injury.

He had been playing through pain in his knee, but it became too much to bear after the Knicks' win Sunday over the defending champion Dallas Mavericks.
