Rutgers asks Big East for help

Rutgers has asked the Big East for financial relief to make up for the loss of a home game because of changes in Big East membership, The Star-Ledger of Newark reported Tuesday.

The Scarlet Knights have only six home games this season, thanks to TCU 's departure to the Big 12.

Rutgers makes anywhere between $1.2 million and $1.7 million per home game, the newspaper reported, and athletic director Tim Pernetti wants to be compensated for that lost revenue.
