Sens fined $10K for 'verbal abuse'

KANATA, Ontario -- The NHL has fined the Senators and forward Zenon Konopka for "verbal abuse" from the Ottawa enforcer directed towards a New York Rangers player who was conducting a live television interview prior to Game 2 on Saturday.

The Senators were docked $10,000 while Konopka was hit with a $2,500 fine, which is the maximum allowable fine for players.

The fines represent the latest discipline in a testy series that has already received its fair share of league attention.
