Mets put Frank Francisco on DL

Mets closer Frank Francisco has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain. The closer had an MRI performed Sunday and the team made a decision after seeing him do exercises before the Yankees faced the Mets.

His time on the disabled list will be retroactive to June 23, as he also missed Saturday's game vs. the Yankees.
