NHL, NHLPA exchange offers

NEW YORK -- With three days remaining until a league-imposed lockout, the NHL and NHL Players' Association exchanged proposals during a meeting here Wednesday afternoon, though the likelihood a deal gets done before the weekend still appears bleak.

Both sides traded revamped versions of their last proposals to address the core economic issues that continue to polarize the two groups.
