Kenny Phillips wins appeal

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants safety Kenny Phillips said Friday he won his appeal and had his $30,000 unnecessary roughness fine from September overturned.

Phillips was fined for hitting Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson on a pass play during which no flag was thrown in the Giants' 41-34 win on Sept. 16.
