Yankees interested in Travis Hafner

The New York Yankees have interest in designated hitter Travis Hafner, sources confirmed Wednesday.

If signed, Hafner, 35, would fill the void as the left-handed DH, which opened when Raul Ibanez signed with the Seattle Mariners earlier this offseason. Hafner also could play some first base.

Sources said Hafner likely would be offered a one-year, incentive-laden major league deal.
