Jamal Branch sprains left knee

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- St. John's guard Jamal Branch sprained the MCL in his left knee early in the second half of Saturday's 68-56 loss to Georgetown.

Branch had his knee re-examined in New York on Monday, but will also have an MRI on Tuesday.

His status for Wednesday's game against Connecticut is uncertain.
