Embattled A-Rod to rehab in N.Y.

TAMPA, Fla. -- New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that Alex Rodriguez will rehab from hip surgery in New York and won't be with the team to start spring training.

Rodriguez, who also is facing allegations of using performance-enhancing drugs, will remain in New York as he tries to return to the field after the All-Star break.

"He will continue to rehab in New York, where he has been rehabbing," Girardi said on the first day of reporting for the team's pitchers and catchers. ...
