David Wright (ribs) out of WBC

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- New York Mets third baseman David Wright was diagnosed with a moderate strain of the intercostal muscle on his left side that forced him to withdraw from the World Baseball Classic and could land him on the disabled list to open the season.

General manager Sandy Alderson announced the diagnosis Friday afternoon, and manager Terry Collins said he was sure Wright will be sidelined "two to three weeks."
