Report: Rutgers, Eddie Jordan close

Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Eddie Jordan is nearing an agreement with Rutgers to replace Mike Rice as coach, a person familiar with the situation has told The Associated Press.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because Jordan and Rutgers interim athletic director Carl Kirschner are meeting again Sunday to finalize the language in the contract before an announcement can be made.
