Mark Teixeira to miss a few days

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The New York Yankees got favorable news on Mark Teixeira when an MRI performed Sunday morning revealed inflammation but no new tear to the tendon sheath in the first baseman's right wrist.

Teixeira was given a cortisone shot and will get a few days off, but according to manager Joe Girardi, there are no plans to put him on the disabled list right now.
