Jets sign kicker Billy Cundiff

It won't knock the Mark Sanchez-Geno Smith quarterback battle out of the headlines, but the New York Jets created a kicking competition Tuesday by signing well-traveled veteran Billy Cundiff.

Cundiff, who worked out Monday for team officials, will compete with incumbent Nick Folk. Training camp opens Thursday in Cortland, N.Y.
