Alex Rodriguez out of lineup

NEW YORK -- New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez was a late scratch from Saturday's lineup due to flu-like symptoms.

"He wanted to play and he was sick last night, really sick last night and he played and I texted him this morning and he said he wanted to try," said manager Joe Girardi, who is just getting over the same illness. "He did some work in the cage and then we saw him and he just didn't look good. He was pale, so hopefully tomorrow he's a lot better."
