A-Rod leaves game with tight calf

BOSTON -- New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez was removed for a pinch-hitter in the fifth inning of Sunday night's Yankees-Red Sox game with a tight right calf, the latest setback to a team decimated by injuries this season.

Rodriguez said he hurt the calf running out of the batter's box in the third inning, and then felt it on a Robinson Cano double play later.
