Terrell Thomas wins weekly award

New York Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas, who missed each of the past two seasons following ACL tears in the same knee, has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Sunday's 15-7 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Thomas and Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis are believed to be the only players to return to the NFL following three ACL repairs on the same knee, and the two talk frequently about their comebacks and the effort involved.
