NFL announces preseason schedule

The NFL announced its preseason slate on Wednesday with the Buffalo Bills and New York Giants opening the exhibition season in the Hall of Fame Game on Sunday, Aug. 3.

A Super Bowl rematch also will take place during the preseason when the champion Seattle Seahawks visit the Denver Broncos in the first week of the preseason.

ESPN will televise two NFL preseason games as part of its 2014 "Monday Night Football" schedule.

The Chicago Bears will host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday, Aug. 14, while the Washington Redskins will welcome the Cleveland Browns on Monday, Aug. 18.

The preseason will conclude on Thursday, Aug. 28.
