In a battle of New York starters -- Carl Hubbell of the Giants and Lefty Gomez of the Yankees -- it's Hubbell who steals the show, striking out Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons and Joe Cronin in order for one of baseball's all-time greatest pitching feats. The AL, however, battles back against the NL bullpen (including a two-run single by Yankees pitcher Red Ruffing) for a 9-7 win.
