Notre Dame with 4 players taken in the Top 50 for the 1st time since having 6 taken in the Top 50 in 1993.

With the 51st pick, the Jets selected Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg. Not a surprise, but a curious choice. Looks like a reach to me.

Now that Saints have drafted Ohio State WR Michael Thomas, they have a total of 2 drafted receivers on the roster. It's Brandin Cooks, Thomas and six undrafted guys -- none over the age of 23.

Packers director of player personnel Brian Gutekunst said second-round pick Jason Spriggs, a tackle from Indiana, can play anywhere on the offensive line. "We'll see how that shakes out," he said. "He's very athletic, ran really fast and benched a lot."

The Houston Texans are loading up on Notre Dame players. Center Nick Martin is next, filling a major need for the Texans after the departure of Ben Jones in free agency. This doesn't solve all their offensive line problems, but it's a good start. Martin also has versatility that Texans coach Bill O'Brien covets.

Falcons traded out of 50th pick with Texans to move down to 52nd overall pick. Falcons received Texans' sixth-round pick (195th overall).

After another trade, the Texans are now on the clock at pick 50 overall. Offensive line remains a need for the team which let go of two, including center Ben Jones, in free agency. That could be a need the Texans fill here.

Derrick Henry is the fourth RB drafted by the Titans since 2014, most in the NFL. The 49ers and Texans drafted three. That's not a good development in the NFL circa 2016.

2nd time in the last 5 years Alabama has 5 players selected in the Top 50 - 2012 being the other instance.

Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer

The Jets are on the clock. Their options: CB Mackensie Alexander, QB Christian Hackenberg, G Cody Whitehair. The Jets did a lot of work on Hackenberg. Will Mike Maccagnan take the QB plunge?
