WR Ace Sanders suspended 10 games

The former Jaguars WR was suspended 10 games for violating the NFL policy and program on substances of abuse, according to ESPN sources. This was his second violation. Sanders was suspended 4 games last season under the same policy. He had four catches for 55 yards.

Brady will attend Aug. 12 hearing

A source close to Tom Brady tells ESPN's Dan Graziano that the Patriots QB's appearance at the Aug. 12 settlement hearing in New York City was never in doubt. The next step in the case comes Monday night or Tuesday, when the judge decides whether the sides will be allowed to file documents under seal, or whether they have to be filed unsealed.

JPP plans to play this season

Jason Pierre-Paul is in good spirits and says he will play this season, although he's not sure when, according to ESPN's Ed Werder. JPP won't sign his franchise tender until he's sure he can pass a physical, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano.

Jerry Reese described his conversation with injured DE Jason Pierre-Paul as "personal." Reese added on WFAN Radio: "I want to keep it private between him and I, and we'll leave it at that. It was a good conversation." Tom Coughlin said he still hasn't spoken with JPP, "but as long as he's talking to Jerry or somebody in the building, it looks like there's a chance that the communication can open up."
