After winning the title in 1984, the champion Stars moved to Baltimore to fill the void left by the departing Colts. The Washington Federals moved to Orlando in 1985, the same year the Michigan Panthers merged with the Oakland Invaders and the Arizona Wranglers merged with the Oklahoma Outlaws. The Breakers moved three times in three seasons, a 100-percent figure and a professional franchise record. And the beauty of it was they never had to change their name or uniform with the wavy logo. The Boston Breakers played on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, the New Orleans Breakers on the Gulf of Mexico and the Portland Breakers on the Pacific Ocean. Only five teams played all three seasons as they were originally conceived: The L.A. Express, New Jersey Generals, Tampa Bay Bandits, Denver Gold and Birmingham Stallions.
