TJ's Take on Week 12

Here's my quick review of everything we saw in Week 12 of the 2005 NFL season:

Offensive player of the week
Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson. Ran 25 times for 184 yards and three touchdowns, the final score coming early in overtime as San Diego won at Washington, 23-17.

Defensive player of the week
Bears defensive line. Lovie Smith's team shackled the Bucs, 13-10, and for the second straight week, the defensive front had all of the sacks (4), a pair each by DEs Adewale Ogunleye and Alex Brown.

Coaching move of the Week
Give Mike Shanahan the nod for having embattled RB Ron Dayne ready to go in place of injured RB Tatum Bell. The former Heisman winner responded in Dallas on Turkey Day.

Next week
There are 12 divisional games (eight rematches), including tilts that could go a long way to deciding the AFC North (Bengals-Steelers), AFC West (Broncos-Chiefs), NFC East (Cowboys-Giants) and NFC South (Falcons-Panthers).
