Falcons extend DC Mike Nolan

The Atlanta Falcons and defensive coordinator Mike Nolan have agreed to a two-year contract extension, a source confirmed.

Nolan was entering the last year of his contract and reached an agreement with the team on Saturday, a source told ESPN.com's John Clayton earlier Sunday.

The Falcons finished the season 4-12 and defensive woes contributed to the poor finish. Nolan's defense gave up 379.4 yards per game and had the league's worst third-down defense for a good part of ...
