Playoff expansion subject to CBA

Any expansion of the NFL playoffs would be subject to collective bargaining with the NFL Players Association, union executive George Atallah said Monday on a conference call.

Atallah did not offer a stance on raising the number of playoff teams from 12 to 14, which commissioner Roger Goodell has said he hopes to do by 2015. But because it will mean additional games for two teams, it falls under the league's CBA.
