Panthers sign WR Jason Avant

The Carolina Panthers signed former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jason Avant to a one-year deal, the team announced on Monday.

Avant, who will turn 31 this month, adds another veteran as the Panthers try to replace their top four wide receivers from last season.

Carolina signed former Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Jerricho Cotchery, 31, to a two-year deal earlier in free agency. They also added Tiquan Underwood from Tampa Bay.
