Judge fines Abraham, suspends license
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- New York Jets defensive lineman John Abraham pleaded guilty Tuesday to a lesser charge of driving while impaired and will avoid the jail time he could have faced if convicted of driving drunk.
Under a deal with prosecutors, Abraham's driver's license was suspended for 90 days and he was fined $330.
Abraham was arrested Oct. 1 after driving his sport utility vehicle into a fire hydrant and light pole. He and two passengers were not injured.
