Vikings' Smith inactive for game against Redskins

LANDOVER, Md. -- Minnesota Vikings safety Dwight Smith, who was cited for alleged indecent conduct two weeks ago, was inactive for Monday night's game against the Washington Redskins.

The Vikings said Smith was inactive due to a "coach's decision." New coach Brad Childress has vowed to change the culture of the team that was belittled following last year's infamous boat party involving several players.
