With injuries depleting defense, Browns sign Hamilton

With their defensive line thinned by injuries, the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday signed free agent Bobby Hamilton, a 12-year veteran who has twice worked under coach Romeo Crennel in the past.

The much-traveled Hamilton, 36, was in training camp with the New York Jets this summer, but was released before the start of the season. Financial details of Hamilton's contract were not available.
