Jags release Porter, Florence

The Jacksonville Jaguars admitted to $16.5 million in free-agent mistakes Wednesday when they released wide receiver Jerry Porter and cornerback Drayton Florence, the two top names in their free-agent class of 2008.

Florence received a six-year, $36.1 million contract that included a $3 million signing bonus and $6 million in bonuses and base pay in 2008. Porter signed a six-year, $30.4 million contract last year, earning $7.5 million in 2008.
