Eagles to pay city $3 million
PHILADELPHIA -- A judge says the Philadelphia Eagles owe the city $3 million to finally resolve a long-standing stadium revenue dispute that sparked dueling lawsuits.
Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Albert Shepherd ruled Wednesday the city owes the team $5 million for a 2001 preseason game with the Baltimore Ravens that had to be canceled because of problems with the turf in Veterans Stadium, the team's previous home.
