John Carlson to have shoulder surgery
RENTON, Wash. -- John Carlson was already being challenged to earn his spot back in Seattle's plans when the Seahawks signed Pro Bowl tight end Zach Miller.
Now Carlson won't even get the chance.
Seattle coach Pete Carroll announced Tuesday that Carlson would need shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum and will miss the entire 2011 season.
