One of the reasons Peyton Manning isn't finishing his career with the Indianapolis Colts is the salary-cap consequences of keeping him and possibly finding out he can't play.
Manning was scheduled to count $17 million against the Colts' salary cap if the team paid the $28 million option bonus.
