The surprise firing of Philadelphia Eagles defense coordinator Juan Castillo is a clear signal that the Eagles are trying to shake things up. During the season, there are two main ways to shake up a football team: fire a coordinator or switch starting QBs. And the Eagles aren't ready to give up on Michael Vick just yet.

Coach Andy Reid knows he could be gone after the season if Philadelphia doesn't make the playoffs. The owner made it clear before the season that this team should be better than 8-8. But sitting at a disappointing 3-3 on the season, including two close losses in a row and going into a bye week, it was the right time to make a change. Todd Bowles, who started the season as the secondary coach, will take over as the D-coordinator on an interim basis.
