Lions get under salary cap
Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola and wide receiver Nate Burleson accepted combined pay cuts of $5.55 million to help the Lions get under the salary cap.
Raiola took his base salary from $4.050 million to $1 million to stay with the team. Burleson dropped his $4.5 million base salary to $2 million. Burleson retained the final year of his contract in his new deal. He's scheduled to make $5.5 million next year.
With those savings, the Lions are now $5 million under the cap.
