Vikings release Antoine Winfield
The Minnesota Vikings have released cornerback Antoine Winfield.
The Vikings wanted Winfield, who was due to make $7.25 million in 2013, to restructure his contract, sources told ESPNTwinCities. But the three-time Pro Bowler refused to take a pay cut, according to the report.
Winfield, 35, started 15 games last season and recorded three interceptions for the Vikings. A 14-year veteran, Winfield had 21 interceptions in nine seasons with the Vikings.
