Ed Reed removed from PUP

The Houston Texans officially removed safety Ed Reed from the physically unable to perform list on Saturday.

Reed will be on the Texans' active roster for the start of the regular season. Texans coach Gary Kubiak will decide next week whether or not to play the veteran in Week 1 against the San Diego Chargers.

Reed had arthroscopic hip surgery in April to repair a torn labrum. He missed all of the Texans' offseason and preseason while recovering from the injury.
