Ed Reed not expected to play

Safety Ed Reed, recovering from offseason hip surgery, is not expected to play in the Houston Texans' regular-season opener Monday night against the San Diego Chargers, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Coach Gary Kubiak said Saturday that Reed would not start and was considered a game-time decision to play.
